
Ahmad Anouti is a liver transplant recipient and patient advocate whose lived experience informs his work to improve education, outreach, and patient-centered perspectives in liver disease and transplantation. He serves on the Board of the Texas Liver Care Foundation, contributing to community engagement and educational initiatives focused on liver and metabolic health.
Ahmad completed his medical and undergraduate training at the American University of Beirut and is currently a pediatric resident in the Physician-Scientist Training Program at UT Southwestern. His academic work focuses on biliary atresia mechanisms and pediatric liver transplant outcomes, with more than 30 peer-reviewed publications and over 40 national and international presentations.
He has been invited to share the patient perspective at major scientific and advocacy forums, including serving as a patient keynote at The Liver Meeting 2024, and has spoken for multiple national organizations. Ahmad also holds leadership and advisory roles with the Global Liver Institute, American Liver Foundation, and the Biliary Atresia Research and Education group. In his role with the Texas Liver Care Foundation, Ahmad is involved exclusively in patient advocacy, education, and outreach and does not provide medical care or clinical services.
