History & Impact

Our Story

Founded in 2025, Texas Liver Care was established to close the widening gap in liver and metabolic healthcare across the Dallas–Fort Worth region and beyond. While serving on faculty at a leading academic center, Dr. Thomas G. Cotter recognized that many patients, particularly those in under-resourced communities, lacked timely access to expert hepatology care and opportunities to participate in clinical research.

Large academic programs often concentrate on liver transplantation, while many private practices face limitations in caring for Medicaid and uninsured populations. Texas Liver Care was created to bridge this divide by offering access to comprehensive liver and metabolic care, integrated clinical trial access, and community-based outreach under one coordinated model.

By combining expert clinical services, metabolic health programs, and equitable research participation, Texas Liver Care extends advanced diagnostics and therapies to patients who might otherwise go untreated. From community screenings to mentoring the next generation of clinicians and investigators, every initiative reflects the organization’s commitment to improving outcomes, expanding access, and reducing disparities in liver and metabolic health.

Our Logo Concept & Design

Our logo reflects the mission and values of Texas Liver Care. The TLC lettering is designed for sleek, memorable recognition, seamlessly framing a two-lobed liver form that represents comprehensive, patient-centered care. Its organic curves convey approachability and warmth, while the minimalist design underscores our focus on clarity, expertise, and compassion in liver and metabolic health. The logo unites science and empathy, a reminder that advanced liver care begins with understanding the person behind the diagnosis.
